Left behind in Vietnam?

As a Vietnam War era veteran, I found this story interesting, but I don't know if it's true:

Coin Show This Weekend

I haven't been thinking much about blogging lately because I'm getting ready to go to another coin show.  I always study up for weeks in advance, and that's what I've been doing lately.

The precious metals market is still hot, but not as hot as a few months ago.

Right now, the experts are talking about getting better profits out of silver than gold.  Also, the price of gold is so damn high!  Buying silver doesn't cost nearly as much.

There are lots of coin collectors at these shows, and there are more coin collectors than precious metals investors.  But I don't see many kids collecting coins now.

It's a pity that there's not much jewelry at coin shows ever since gold went through the roof.  I like to buy jewelry for Mrs. AOW, but the material she likes - unusual pieces with nice stones such as sapphires and diamonds just isn't there.  I guess that a lot of people scrapped their jewelry for precious metal value.

Bill Mahrer and Islam

Too bad that this video isn't on every news show right now:

Bill Mahrer gets it!

What a photo!

From the funeral of Margaret Thatcher, this aerial shot was taken inside St. Paul's Cathedral in London on April 17:

One more, taken in the Chapel of St. Mary Undercroft beneath the Palace of Westminster:

Not Cameo!

The way that Cameo likes to stuff her face, it's a good thing this cat isn't Cameo:

Here is the real Cameo:

Yeah, she likes to eat. And eat. And eat.

She likes to play in the snow - the kind that falls from the sky in the winter.

Time for humor

With thanks to Big Bubba:

A young lady came home very sad from a date.

She told her mother, "Anthony proposed to me an hour ago."

"Then why are you so sad?" her mother asked.

"Because he also told me he is an atheist. Mom, he doesn't even believe there's a Hell."

Her mother replied, "Marry him anyway. Between the two of us, we'll show him how wrong he is."

Amazing!

It's the wrong time of year for this particular piece of music, but I'm posting this anyway:

Long hours to make this "harp" and a lot of practice to be able to play it!

Evaporation would be the enemy!

I wonder how the proportions of water would change if the instrument designed used rum?
