A Day Out
On Saturday, Mrs. AOW and I are going into Washington, D.C., for a museum outing. Our plan is to meet up with The Beak, who is coming down from New York City to go on this outing with us.
The Beak is a good friend! A couple of years ago, he came down from New York City -- just to take us out to dinner. In those days, it took at least two assistants to help me with such outings.
Now I'm better. Plus, now I have a scooter, so nobody has the burden of pushing me around in my wheelchair. Mrs. AOW gets all worn out if she has to push me and my wheelchair all over the place!
After the outing, I'll post some details of what we did on my day out. After I catch up on sleep, of course. I'm always tuckered out after a day out, and so is Mrs. AOW.

April's fool : This time it is Israel's Navy chief!...
Soldiers toiled all night to prepare missile boats to leave for 10-days exercise off the coast of Naples.
In the morning they were informed that it was a hoax... General Rothberg's joke...
"He has nothing to do?" the soldier wondered...
IDF Spokesman: "The event is under investigation! We will draw the right conclusions!"
Now, who says that the IDF's Spokesman has no sense of humor?...

A coworker of mine w/MS used to putt around on a scooter... but he needed a full sized van to haul it around with. Getting it in/out of the van was a labour unto itself. I sure hope that things have "progressed" for scooters since then. They were beasts...
Thersites,
I think that a minivan will work now because of the short turning radius. We haven't tried that configuration yet.
That said, getting that scooter loaded by MetroAccess is quite a process and takes some time, particularly to position the scooter properly in the paratransit van.
