My neighbor took the photos. He didn't get the color quite right because of the plastic shields. Also, he is mainly a landscapes photographer.
The first one is uncirculated. The second one is a proof and VERY silver, with good frost and cameo effect.

That's really cool. My eight y/o boy has one of those boards where you can collect a quarter for every state. He FINALLY found the N. Mariana Islands, completing his board.
Coin collectors definitely have an eye for detail!
Check out the 2011 D Army half dollar issue. In uncirc or proof, very nice coin and very small mintage. Price is steadily going up. I bought a couple inc. a MS-69 uncirc.
