I don't have as many prep notes as usual this time.
But a couple of friends have commissioned me to buy selected items for them.
If I can even find those items!
Silver and gold prices are down, so many dealers may not be willing to part with certain items in their inventory.
It will be a relief to be out and about if only for one day. We've been real shut in here since Mrs. AOW's eye surgery back on October 2. She's still miserable, but isn't letting on. When she can help letting on, that is. I know that she's still in quite a bit of pain and very, very tired. She was going to go to the coin show with me, but I'm not sure that she's up to it.

All things must pass and I hope it's quick for you folks. Enjoy as much as you can Mr AOW.
Hi MR AOW.
Nice to hear you're going to another coin shop.
Must be interesting, and probably you need to know quite a bit to know which ones to buy or not to buy.
I don't know how it is in the states but in Europe they changed the laws a couple of years back now anything in gold & silver over $450 must be paid with a card so they can keep track who bought what and where.
We can't have you stock up on bullion do we? :)
Will,
Here is the United States, one can buy up to $10,000 in a single purchase without any reporting to the government. Most transactions here are done in cash and untraceable.
Is there still a "buyer's bias" against gold Krugerands? I've still got a couple that I've been holding since the 80's... and will likely never sell, but would like to know.
Don't forget your scooter trailer to haul all the gold.
Thersites,
Good question!
You might have to take 1-2% less than you would on an Eagle. You should be able to get at least 98% of spot.
Right now, the hot tickets are Maple Leafs and American Eagles.
Cameo Coins in Vienna and Gaithersburg Coin Exchange in Maryland -- those are the places that I'd take Krugerands to sell them.
Odie,
Most dealers today wouldn't part with the material I wanted. Maybe they were in those items too high.
Thanks, Mr. AoW. If I ever need to sell, I'll keep that in mind. I have a couple of Eagles... but the small 1/10th oz. size which I got new from the mint for a little less than $50 per. Yoy never know when you may need to bribe you way out of the country... like the Jews in the 30's. ;)
Good hunting, Mr. AOW.
