Friday afternoon, Mrs. AOW dropped me off at the local VFW while it was still daylight. Since her eye surgery last month, she's not ready yet to do any driving after dark. Too bad that we're not still on daylight savings time.
Anyway, our local VFW is on a bit of a slope. This was our first van trip there, and Mrs. AOW picked a drop off point that wasn't too steep.
But apparently it was too steep!
Or else I was going down the ramp too fast.
I flipped over end to end - ass over teacups.
A complete somersault! And the scooter went with me because I was hanging on to the handlebars.
So, there I was on the pavement, and the scooter was on top of me.
The scooter's battery was lying several feet way.
I don't know how I didn't get hurt! Well, not much. A bit of a bump to my head.
A couple of Chinese fellows in the parking lot next to the VFW came over and got me up off the ground. And I zoomed on into the VFW for a night out with the guys.

It sounds like it's going to take a while getting used to the terrain factors associated with de-scootering the van!
Glad to hear that you survived!
Hang in there!
I recommend pointing the ramp up hill, which means you probably got to be sideways on the road while you deplane. Best.
Good thing we old guys bounce.
Talk about making an entrance.
It was a bad moment -- that's for sure.
Odie! Ha!
I am so sorry that you flipped, but so glad you're not hurt! Falls, flips, etc. can happen to the best of us.
:-p
