Most Americans don't begin to appreciate our military veterans enough.
Only lately, did I, a veteran, ever hear "Thanks for serving." In fact, the first time I was ever thanked for my service was at a Gathering of Eagles event in 2005. I served during the Vietnam War Era.
Today, on this Veterans Day, or any day for that matter, say "Thank you!" to an American veteran.

I'm sorry it was so late for you to hear, but "thank you for your service to our country."
Sorry I'm a little late, but "Thank you for serving our country, Mr. AoW!" I was in the USNR shortly after you...'75-85 and while technically not a "veteran" appreciate not only those who serve, but also those who support them, as well. And so that includes wives and families like Mrs. AoW, the support contractors, State Department and other Embassy officials, and the like. Thank you ALL for your service.
This is what we know: we would not have our beloved country were it not for the sacrifices of men and women like yourself; people who place their country above their own personal safety. I thank you for your service, and I wish you a very happy Veteran’s Day.

Welcome Home and Thank You. I salute you my brother.
May God Bless and Keep you til' Day is done.
Thank you, Mr AOW
Nice tribute.
Vets are appreciated now much more than before. 9/11 is what changed it.
It does my heart good to see Vietnam vets finally getting the positive recognition they've earned.
My 2008 Veteran's Day post was a tribute to Vietnam Vets.

Freedom is not free! To many people who call themselves Americans have forgtten that truth. God bless you and all veterans.
Dear Mr. AOW, from the very depths of my soul and with all of my heart, please accept my deepest thanks for your service to America. God bless you, sir, I am so very sorry for how Vietnam Veterans were treated when they finally got home, and the general culture of ingratitude which infests our culture.
I teach my children to Thank a Vet EVERY Chance You Get, it is my fervent wish that what they learn will catch on with the new generation.
We would be nothing without the courage and sacrifice of our military service members.
I appreciate your thanks for your comments!
The same gratitude goes to you from across the sea over her in Britain/Europe.
I would like to put a plug into the fact that men and women from many countries served and continue to do so. I live on Gibraltar, a home to our servicemen and women, served both in Iraq and Afghanistan along with losses that we all feel in our small community.
Cheers and God bless.

Thanks for your service, and God bless you and your lovely wife!
Hi We in europe owe so much to all the Veterans who served in WWI and WWII if it were not for these valiant men we would be all speaking german or even worse Russian.During WWII some of my relatives perished in the German Death Camps if not for the Allies none of the Jewish population might ever have survided. So I salute all of you for your bravery and courage , we owe you more than words can say.Therefor it's imperative that America remains the 'land of the free' and continous to defend liberty and justice.
Will.
Thank you so much.
