Tomorrow, I will have cataract surgery on my left eye.Right now, the vision in that eye is terrible. I have only light perception. Hell, I couldn't even read the big E on the chart last week!
I have an unusual kind of cataract, but I don't know the name of it. The surgery has some risks. The doctor - he's the best eye surgeon in the area - says that I should have better than 20/60 after the surgery.
Mrs. AOW will be taking me over to the surgery center very early in the morning, and I should be home by afternoon. She has great confidence in this surgeon because he operated on her in 2008. He also did a laser procedure for "secondary cataract" on her in January.
Wish me luck! I'm a little nervous.

Mr. AOW - I worked for many years as an optician. Almost all cataract surgeries are successful. Doctors will always tell you about risks, but they rarely happen.
You'll be fine and soon will have better vision in that eye. I'm confident of that!
I'll say a few prayers for a good outcome anyway. ;-)
It sounds terrible and the image is scary. I hope everything goes smoothly and you have a good result. I know you both are probably nervous.

The left eye, the eye getting the surgery tomorrow, is Mr. AOW's dominant eye. He's been struggling to see for a long time now.

I only saw the post of Mrs AOW earlier this morning, i will say a prayer to God for a successful outcome of the Surgery.
Having myself these last days more and more health probs i can only say rely on the lord, he has a plan for each one of us.
Twice i was given the last rites and each time within hours i made a spontaneous recovery.
The lord is the best surgeon there is around.
Mr, OK good luck. I had laser Glaucoma surgery about 12 years ago. I've been without symptoms since. You'll do fine.

So far, all is well. Mr. AOW sees the doc again in a little over an hour. An extra precaution.
I saw at Always blog that it went well, that's good to hear.
Mr. AOW slept the night through and has gone back to bed now for a morning nap.
Vision is much better this morning.
Fingers crossed that he won't develop double vision.
Sleep is the best medicine, sometimes. I hope all continues to go well!

The Pillsbury Dough Boy died yesterday of a yeast infection and traumatic complications from repeated pokes to the belly. He was 71. Dough Boy is survived by his wife, Play Dough, three children, John Dough, Jane Dough, and Dill Dough, plus they had one in the oven. Services for held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes.

This is great news, I hope the recovery will be complete and permanent.
My mom suffers of Rheumatic Arthritis and because of this the Catharact surgery only lasts about 3 years she had already 3 times the surgery.

I told Mr. AOW just a few minutes ago that you had left a well-wishing comment. I am relaying his thanks.
His eye is doing fine, I think. We've got our fingers crossed that he will escape developing double vision.
Now, although his eye is doing fine, Mr. AOW has done little else except sleep since the day of surgery. Sometimes, I have to administer the eye drops even as he is snoozing!
We do plan to go on an outing tomorrow afternoon. He says that he's up to that -- and up FOR that.
